About Me

My professional background is in Occupational Therapy complimented by counselling training. I worked in mental health services for 20+ years, teaching MBCT in clinical and research settings. I also worked with people with physical disabilities in Social Services for 6 years. I was introduced to mindfulness in the mid/late 1990s by Mark Williams, as a participant in his first 8-week course delivery. I subsequently was trained to deliver MBCT with mark and (after attending an Intern Programme at CFM in Worcester and attending training with the CFM team), MBSR and have been teaching these curricula over 20+ years. I was a teacher/trainer with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice for 10 years. My particular interest in teachers' skills development are enquiry/inquiry and Mindful Movement. I offer supervision for personal practice and teaching practice, on the Mindfulness Network supervisor list. I offer retreats in-person and online. I became involved in mindfulness in schools settings in 2010, becoming one of the authors of PawsB and .b Foundations in association with Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP). I have subsequently developed The Present Courses for educational settings and for adults. The course for adults is called Living in The Present. This approach has proved accessible and effective with people in many and varied public sector settings and clinical circumstances such as teachers, NHS staff, head injury and MS. This approach supports people to weave mindful awareness through everyday life offering an accessible, friendly way to begin to find the relevance and support of mindful awareness in connection with their life circumstances. People with established practice have also valued this approach to deepen their meditation practice and practice living more mindfully. www.thepresentcourses.org. Since the pandemic, our training and courses have been online but we are open to and keen to offer in-person courses again when there is sufficient demand. I live in North Wales and enjoy outdoor swimming, walking, Pilates and yoga, living with my husband and two rescue cats.
