I am currently a self-employed mindfulness teacher. I teach Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for depression and MBCT for life, in a group, 1:1 format or drop in format. The majority of my work is online. I also supervise other qualified and trainee mindfulness teachers and am a trained experienced an assessor of mindfulness teachers according to the Mindfulness-based Interventions: Teaching Assessment Criteria (MBI:TAC). I was drawn to the Mindfulness-based field from work delivering evidence-based psychotherapies in NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services from 2006 - 2020. I have been practising meditation since attending an eight week mindfulness course in 2011. The radical new perspective mindfulness had on working alongside emotions, in the present context, and the expectation of an ongoing personal practice served to enhance my urge to teach mindfulness. In 2013 I began teaching MBCT. In 2020 I graduated with a distinction MA (Master of Arts) in Teaching Mindfulness and a Proficient certificate of competence in teaching MBCT from the University of Bangor.
