About Me

I first 'discovered' mindfulness in 2007 when I developed chronic pain (lower back, and in both my arms from my elbows down to my fingers). I say 'discovered' because at the time I didn't know that is what I was doing! What I was doing was tuning in to my mind and body and noticing and experiencing how my mood influenced my pain levels and thinking patterns (and of course stress!) In both helpful and unhelpful ways. I also noticed how my body responded to pain and anxiety. It was a little later when I joined a meditation group when I realised that this is part of mindfulness practice. And I have been practising mindfulness and meditation ever since - applying it into all aspects of my life. I am particularly interested in bringing mindfulness out of our heads and into our bodies and breath, such as through body movement (like gentle yoga) and breath work, and loved practice outside. I try and find ways to be playful with how I teach and convey some of the concepts within mindfulness and meditation, as my meditation group will testify! Although I offer both Breathworks courses in a group format, I'm finding that most people prefer a one-to-one course, either face-to-face or online. The benefit of a one-to-one course is the I am able to tailor the teaching to you and your needs, making it more relevant to your particular circumstances. It also means there's more flexibility one-to-one: so you never need to miss a week. Maybe take a peek at my website to see what previous participants have said about working with me...
