About Me

I began studying meditation in 2004 and began teaching mindfulness in 2012. I am a lead tutor for the Mindfulness Association (MA) and have taught on all of the MA one year course offerings (mindfulness, compassion, insight and mindfulness for life). In 2013, I was awarded a Masters Degree in Studies in Mindfulness from the University of Aberdeen and upon graduation was invited back to teach on the same programme. As part of my final year dissertation, I chose to study the effectiveness of the 8-week Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC) for health care staff in their place of work. In 2014, I became certified to teach mindfulness to children and adolescents after attending the .b course facilitated by the Mindfulness in Schools Project. In 2015, I set up a mindfulness initiative in the health service, to offer mindfulness and compassion based interventions to NHS staff in Cumbria, as part of a health and well-being initiative. I continue in this role and teach approximately 10 x 8-week mindfulness and compassion courses per year and have delivered courses and workshops to thousands of staff. I run courses for the general public throughout the year and I am happy to work with groups or individuals to create their own bespoke training packages. You can find out more about my regular class schedule, upcoming workshops, courses and retreats by visiting my website.
