I began co-facilitating Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in 2012 then teaching from 2021 following my comprehensive training in the approach. Since then, I have facilitated MBCT courses in Talking Therapies Services (former IAPT) working with patients to support mental health and emotional well-being. The programmes I am registered with BAMBA to teach include the core 8-week MBCT course in IAPT. This programme is designed to help individuals manage depression, and stress by integrating mindfulness practices with cognitive behavioural techniques. In terms of delivery, I offer both in-person and online MBCT courses, allowing flexibility for participants who may prefer one format over the other or who are located in different geographical areas. I ensure that both formats maintain the integrity and quality of the course content, with additional support provided for online participants to maintain engagement and a strong sense of community. Through structured teaching, I support participants in cultivating mindfulness skills such as mindful breathing, body awareness, and awareness of thoughts and emotions. These practices help individuals create space between stimulus and reaction, leading to more thoughtful, less automatic responses to challenges and stressors. As part of my ongoing professional development, I regularly attend mindfulness and MBCT-related workshops and training to stay up to date with best practices and emerging research in the field. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and compassionate learning environment where participants feel supported in their journey of mindfulness. With a strong foundation in MBCT, along with my clinical and public sector experience, I am passionate about helping individuals cultivate mindfulness in their everyday lives, enhancing overall well-being and quality of life.
